RIVERSIDE
QUARTET
                                                               Riverside Quartet

Riverside quartet has been entertaining in the Sarnia area since 1998. When formed the quartet members were John Chorostecky as bass, Glynn Jones as baritone, Ted Stewart as lead and John Hopkins as tenor. The quartet performed regularly in the Sarnia/Port Huron area, delivered Singing Valentines, and supported the Bluewater Chordsmen chorus in the annual shows, and Lambton County Music festival. The Quartet continues all these activities to this day although the makeup of the quartet has been changing as the years and health issues saw some members retire and be replaced.

In 2006 Joe Lobsinger replaced John Chorostecky as bass, and in 2009 Bob Marsh replaced Glynn Jones as baritone. In 2012 Doug Doull took over the baritone spot and, in 2016 Dave Alway joined the quartet to replace John Hopkins.

The 2018 quartet members are: Lead - Ted Stewart , retired engineer

Bass - Joe Lobsinger, retired Teacher

Baritone – Doug Doull, retired engineer

Tenor - Dave Alway, retired purchasing manager

The quartet members are all active members of the Sarnia Bluewater Chordsmen chorus. We have been serving the chorus, and its vision, by acting as the organizing committee for the annual chorus shows for the past six years, and by contributing directly to the $500.00 performance award, given by the chorus each year at the Lambton County Music Festival. Joe is a chorus music director and the chair of the music committee, Ted serves as the chorus secretary and music librarian, Doug is past president of the Sarnia chapter and uniform manager, Dave sings in two choruses and two quartets in Florida during the winter months.

Most recently we have sung for a marriage proposal, several events with the chorus, and at a county church anniversary celebration. In 2016 we received the highest mark given at the Lambton County Music Festival

We are ready to share in your special event, and promise an entertaining time of song and good humour for you, any time and any place. Our repertoire is quite large and includes 50’s Doo Wop, contemporary popular songs as well as music suitable for church services. We are primarily active in the April to October months as two members go to the southern USA during the winter.
